

Indian badminton stars PV Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth, and Lakshya Sen made a strong start at the Thailand Open Super 500 tournament with impressive first-round victories. In women’s singles, Sindhu defeated Taipei player Tung Tang 21-9, 21-12 in straight games. In men’s singles, Srikanth stunned Singapore’s Loh Kean Yew with a 21-14, 21-15 win, while Lakshya Sen secured a 21-16, 21-17 victory over Jason. Their confident performances have raised India’s hopes in the tournament.
Elsewhere, Devika Sihag and Malavika also advanced to the second round with hard-fought wins. However, Tanvi Sharma, Unnati, Anmol Kharab, Ayush, and Tarun exited the tournament after suffering defeats in their respective matches. India’s mixed doubles pairs too bowed out in the opening round. Despite the setbacks, the victories of Sindhu, Srikanth, and Lakshya Sen brought cheer to Indian badminton fans.
