Veteran Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has addressed the growing calls for his return to the national team ahead of the 2027 ODI World Cup. The 36-year-old enjoyed an impressive IPL 2026 campaign with Royal Challengers Bengaluru, taking 28 wickets and playing an important role in the team’s successful title defence. He finished second in the IPL 2026 wicket-takers’ list, behind Kagiso Rabada’s 29 wickets.
Speaking ahead of the Uttar Pradesh T20 League, where he is set to lead Lucknow Falcons, Bhuvneshwar said he would always be ready to represent India if given the opportunity. However, he made it clear that the decision on whether he is selected rests entirely with the selectors. Bhuvneshwar added that his focus remains on playing cricket and performing for his team rather than proving a point or targeting a particular comeback.
