Bangladesh Achieves Historic Rise in Test Rankings

Bangladesh may have suffered a heavy innings and 51 run defeat against Australia in the second Test, but the team has achieved a historic milestone in the latest ICC Test rankings. Bangladesh climbed three places to reach sixth position with 78 rating points. It is the first time in the history of the Test rankings that Bangladesh have moved above ninth place, surpassing West Indies, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Australia continue to lead the Test rankings with 126 points. South Africa are second with 119 points, followed by New Zealand with 106, India with 104 and England with 99. Despite the setback against Australia, Bangladesh’s rise in the rankings marks a significant achievement for the team.
