After winning the T20 series on Australian soil, the Indian women’s cricket team suffered disappointment in the ODI format, losing the three-match series following consecutive defeats. In the second ODI held at Hobart, Australia secured a comfortable five-wicket victory over India. Batting first, India posted 251/9 in 50 overs. In response, Australia chased down the target in just 36.1 overs, scoring 252/5. Georgia Voll starred with a brilliant century (101 off 82 balls, including 13 fours and a six), while opener Phoebe Litchfield contributed an aggressive 80 off 62 balls. Beth Mooney (31), Annabel Sutherland (10), and Ashleigh Gardner (15*) added useful runs. Kashvee Gautam and Deepti Sharma picked up two wickets each, while Kranti Goud claimed one for India. Georgia Voll was named Player of the Match.
Earlier, India managed only a moderate total despite half-centuries from opener Pratika Rawal (52) and captain Harmanpreet Kaur (54). Smriti Mandhana (31), Richa Ghosh (22), Kashvee Gautam (25), and Kranti Goud (19) made valuable contributions, while Jemimah Rodrigues (15), Deepti Sharma (1), and Amanjot Kaur (13) failed to make an impact. Among Australia’s bowlers, Ashleigh Gardner, Annabel Sutherland, and Alana King picked up two wickets each, while Schutt and Nicola Carey claimed one apiece. Having already won the first ODI, Australia sealed the series, with the third and final match scheduled for March 1 in Hobart.
