Jammu and Kashmir pacer Auqib Nabi has been selected in the Indian Test squad for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. He has replaced Jasprit Bumrah, who has been ruled out due to injury. The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced the update on social media. The 29-year-old bowler has been waiting for his international debut and earned the selection after impressive performances in domestic cricket.
Auqib Nabi played a key role in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ranji Trophy success, taking 60 wickets in the tournament. Although he was expected to make his debut in the Test match against Afghanistan, he was not included in the playing XI. With his latest selection for the Sri Lanka series, fans and cricket experts are demanding that he be given an opportunity in the final team. The two match Test series against Sri Lanka will begin on August 15.
