

The cricket schedule for the 2026 Asian Games in Japan has been finalised, with both Indian teams entering the competition as seeded sides and beginning their campaigns from the quarter-final stage. Harmanpreet Kaur-led India Women will take on hosts Japan on September 18. The women’s tournament will conclude with the final on September 22. India will be looking to build on its gold-medal success from the previous Asian Games.
In the men’s competition, Shreyas Iyer-led India will open its campaign on September 28 in the quarter-final against the second-placed team from Group A, which comprises Afghanistan, Japan and Nepal. The men’s semi-finals are scheduled for October 1, with the bronze-medal match and final set for October 3. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have received direct quarter-final berths in the men’s event.
