India’s opponent in the semi-finals of the Asian Games cricket tournament has been decided. Team India will face Sri Lanka in the second semi-final on Thursday. Persistent rain washed out the India-Afghanistan quarter-final on Monday, along with another quarter-final. The rain continued on Tuesday, resulting in the cancellation of the Nepal-Sri Lanka and Bangladesh-Malaysia quarter-finals.
With the matches unable to take place, Sri Lanka, ranked ninth, and Bangladesh, ranked eighth, in the T20 rankings progressed to the semi-finals based on their superior rankings. Pakistan and Bangladesh will meet in the first semi-final, while India and Sri Lanka will battle it out in the second. Nagoya has witnessed continuous rain over the past few days, raising concerns over whether the weather will disrupt the semi-finals as well.
