

The Andhra Pickleball League (APL) has begun with the objective of promoting pickleball across Andhra Pradesh and providing talented young players with a competitive platform to showcase their skills. The league was inaugurated on Saturday at Nitro Pickle Cafe by Sujay Krishna Rangarao, Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Forest Development Corporation and Chairman and Chief Patron of the APL. The organisers said the league is aimed at expanding the popularity of the sport and creating more opportunities for emerging players.
A total of eight teams are competing in the inaugural league: Godavari Celestials, Amaravati Phoenix, Tirupati Tigers, Nellore Ninjas, Vizag Sea Hawks, Royals of Rayalaseema, Bhimavaram Bulls and Vijayawada Sunshiners. Franchisees have acquired 88 players for the competition. League matches will be held until August 23, while the grand final is scheduled to take place at GITAM University in Visakhapatnam. The organisers expressed confidence that the tournament will help strengthen the pickleball ecosystem in the state.
