India captain Suryakumar Yadav has apologized to all-rounder Axar Patel for leaving him out of a crucial match in the T20 World Cup. Suryakumar admitted that dropping Axar from the playing XI during the Super-8 match against the South Africa national cricket team was a mistake and the decision did not work in the team’s favor.
He said Axar was very disappointed after not being included in the team. Suryakumar also mentioned that it was difficult for him to speak with Axar after the match. Instead of Axar, Washington Sundar was selected for the game. However, India suffered a heavy defeat, which led to strong criticism of the captain’s decision.
