The three-match T20I series between India and Afghanistan, scheduled for September, could see a change in dates. According to the existing schedule announced jointly by the BCCI and Afghanistan Cricket, the matches are set to be played at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium on September 13, 15 and 17. Afghanistan, which has been playing several home series in India due to instability in its own country, is listed as the host for this series.
Afghanistan Cricket is reportedly considering a change to the schedule, with a proposal to hold either the first or second T20I on September 14, which coincides with Ganesh Chaturthi. The board reportedly believes that the festival holiday could bring more spectators to the stadium and potentially boost television and digital viewership. The proposal has already been conveyed to the BCCI, and any alteration to the schedule will depend on the Indian board’s approval.
