As stated by India captain Suryakumar Yadav, ahead of India’s T20 World Cup match against Pakistan, the team is focusing primarily on their own strengths rather than worrying about how the opposition will play. In a press conference, Suryakumar confirmed that Abhishek Sharma will feature in the final XI and the team has already been practicing to tackle Pakistan spinner Usman Tariq. He also mentioned that Kuldeep Yadav could be part of the final lineup and emphasized that the team’s strategy will rely on their own strengths to secure victory.
Despite some issues in the middle order, Suryakumar highlighted that the team has had an excellent start after winning two consecutive matches. However, he acknowledged that maintaining this momentum has been challenging. He expressed confidence in the experience of each player and their ability to execute individual strategies effectively, ensuring strong overall performance. According to him, there is no doubt that the team is capable of achieving success.
Suryakumar added that it is natural to feel pressure while playing against Pakistan, but the team will approach the match with the mindset of treating it like any other game, without letting the pressure affect their performance. He also noted that the decision to conduct a bilateral series between India and Pakistan is beyond the team’s control, and such decisions will be made at the appropriate time.
