The Plot: A Modern Love Conundrum
Varun (Siddhu Jonnalagadda), an orphan yearning for a traditional family, finds his world turned upside down. His free-spirited girlfriend Raaga (Srinidhi Shetty) rejects the very concepts of marriage and labels. Heartbroken, he marries Anjali (Raashii Khanna), and they build a life together, only to discover they cannot have biological children. The Verdict: A Confident, if Flawed, Debut
Telusu Kada is a film of bold ideas and genuine moments. Director-writer Neeraja Kona deserves applause for tackling a modern, complex relationship dynamic with authenticity and a clear vision. The core conflict is fresh and will deeply resonate with urban audiences. Siddhu Jonnalagadda successfully distances himself from Tillu, delivering a restrained and effective performance. Raashii Khanna is radiant and shares crackling chemistry with Siddhu, while Srinidhi Shetty is a revelation, owning her author-backed role with confidence.
The film's strengths are its relatable dialogues, Thaman's superb songs, and several beautifully executed, heartwarming scenes that stay with you. However, the film's boldness is also its limitation. The screenplay gets repetitive, and the overuse of slow-motion hero elevation shots feels jarring and unnecessary. Some dialogues, particularly in the second half, cross the line into poor taste, which might alienate a section of the audience.
Bottom Line: Telusu Kada is a confident debut that bravely explores a modern relationship triangle. It is engaging, well-acted, and filled with memorable moments, but its niche theme and occasional missteps restrict its mass appeal. If you're looking for a conventional love story, this isn't it.
