Story:

Set in a village in Telangana, the story follows Daamini (Aishwarya Rajesh), who suffers from a rare condition where anyone who touches her receives an electric shock. Because of this, she and her father keep shifting from one village to another. As she reaches marriageable age, her father struggles to find a suitable groom. Eventually, Yadagiri (Thiruveer), an aspiring politician, agrees to marry her without knowing her secret. He discovers the truth on their wedding night, leading to the events that unfold in the rest of the film.

Plus Points:

The core concept of a heroine suffering from a unique electric-shock condition is interesting and had the potential to become an entertaining fantasy drama. Aishwarya Rajesh delivers a sincere performance despite the weak characterization, while Thiruveer performs adequately within the limited scope of his role. Vishnu Oi manages to provide a few entertaining moments with his comedy, and the pre-wedding episodes before the interval offer some decent entertainment.

Minus Points:

The film suffers heavily because of its amateurish writing and direction. The screenplay lacks emotional depth and engaging storytelling, making the narrative feel slow and repetitive. The comedy appears forced in most scenes, and the emotional portions fail to create the intended impact. The second half loses momentum completely, making the overall viewing experience dull and exhausting.

Technical Aspects:

Director Bharat Dharshan fails to utilize the interesting premise effectively due to weak storytelling and an underdeveloped screenplay. Bharath Manchiraju's music leaves little impact, while CH Kushendar's cinematography lacks visual richness. Sree Varaprasad's editing could have been much sharper, as the sluggish narration significantly affects the film's pace. The production values are below average and reduce the overall cinematic experience.

Verdict:

Oh Sukumari begins with an interesting premise but fails to convert it into an engaging film. Weak writing, poor execution, forced comedy, and below-par technical standards overshadow the performances. Except for a few entertaining moments before the interval and Vishnu Oi's comedy, the film offers very little. Overall, Oh Sukumari turns out to be a disappointing watch.
