Story :
Shiva, an aspiring interior designer, leaves his family in Nellore and moves to Chennai to chase his dreams. Meanwhile, Mithra avoids marriage pressure at home under the pretext of attending job interviews. How do these two meet? How does their relationship evolve? Do they succeed in their careers and personal lives? The film explores their journey of love, struggle, and self-discovery.
Plus Points :
The film’s narration is engaging and relatable. The first half flows neatly with situational comedy and light-hearted moments that connect well with the audience. The emotional shift in the second half adds depth to the story. Santosh Shobhan delivers one of his most mature performances, especially in emotional scenes. Manasa Varanasi impresses with a thoughtful and meaningful role. Their on-screen chemistry feels natural. The music and cinematography further enhance the emotional impact of the film.
Minus Points :
Though engaging, the storyline follows a predictable path and lacks major novelty. The love story between the lead pair could have been explored more deeply. Certain sequences remind viewers of other romantic dramas. The absence of subtitles for some Tamil and Malayalam dialogues may create minor confusion. The climax may not connect equally with all sections of the audience.
Technical Department :
Production values are good. Aditya Ravindran’s music plays a key role in elevating emotional moments. Dinesh Purushothaman’s cinematography presents visually pleasing frames. Ganesh Shiva’s editing maintains a smooth narrative flow. Director Ashwin Chandrasekhar successfully presents the emotional core of the story with balanced comedy and drama.
Verdict :
Overall, Couple Friendly is a decent emotional romantic drama backed by mature performances from the lead pair. While the predictable storyline acts as a drawback, the emotional depth and light comedy make it a watchable entertainer.
Rating : 3/5
