Review:
Beauty, directed by Vardhan and presented by Maruthi, is a romantic family drama that attempts to blend youthful romance with a parental message.
Plot:
Alekhya (Nilakhi Patra), from a lower-middle-class family, falls in love with Arjun (Ankith Koyya). Her life takes a drastic turn when her mother (Vasuki) discovers her intimacy during a bold video call. A heated confrontation leads Alekhya to elope with Arjun, leaving her parents distressed. What follows is a series of troubles that bring unexpected twists.
Performances:
Nilakhi Patra shines in a bold, layered role, handling rebellion, guilt, and emotions with ease.
Ankith Koyya struggles in the first half but improves in the second.
Vasuki Anand delivers impactful emotional moments as the mother.
Naresh plays the helpless father in a routine fashion.
Technical Aspects:
Cinematography by Shrie Sai Kumaar Daara is decent.
Editing falters in the first half but picks up later.
Production values are okay.
Storyline is predictable, though the second-half twist surprises and adds weight.
Positives:
✅ Strong twist in second half
✅ Nilakhi Patra’s performance
Negatives:
❌ Weak and boring first half
❌ Routine melodrama
❌ Forced emotions
Analysis:
Though promoted as a film with a strong parental message, Beauty ends up being routine in execution. The outdated narration, over-the-top couple scenes, and far-fetched ideology dilute the impact. However, the last 15 minutes and Nilakhi Patra’s performance provide some redemption.
Bottom Line: An old-school drama saved slightly by its twist.
