YSR Congress Party president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy held a key meeting with senior party leaders at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli. The meeting reportedly focused on alleged irregularities and incidents of violence during local body elections, along with the recent Supreme Court ruling. Jagan said the Supreme Court had expressed concern over what he described as the erosion of democracy in the state. The developments surrounding the local elections were discussed during the meeting.
Jagan alleged that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was using the police to carry out these alleged acts. He praised YSRCP leaders and party workers for displaying courage at the grassroots level despite the challenges they face. The meeting reportedly also addressed the situation faced by party cadres during the local election process and the party’s future course of action. The ruling party’s response to Jagan’s allegations is awaited.
