YSR Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has urged party leaders and workers to fight relentlessly to protect democracy. He alleged that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was resorting to organised violence out of fear of losing the local body elections. Jagan claimed that the situation on the ground had not changed despite the Supreme Court’s directions and alleged that violence had also occurred during the nomination process for MPTC and ZPTC elections.
Jagan criticised the alleged involvement of those in power in acts of violence, saying such conduct was contrary to democratic principles. He praised YSRCP leaders and grassroots workers for displaying courage and continuing their efforts to safeguard democracy. He called on party members to gather strong evidence relating to the incidents and present it before the courts, stressing the need to pursue a legal battle to protect democratic rights.
