Former Minister and BRS MLA T Harish Rao has demanded the immediate withdrawal of the government order issued for the establishment of a dump yard in Siddapur village of Kothur mandal, Ranga Reddy district. Farmers and residents from nearly 20 surrounding villages met him in Hyderabad and submitted a representation, expressing their concerns over the adverse impact of the proposed project. Responding to their plea, Harish Rao strongly criticized the government’s decision, calling it ill-conceived and harmful to local livelihoods.
He alleged that setting up a dump yard across 86 acres of fertile agricultural land near residential areas reflects poor planning by the government led by Revanth Reddy. The project, he said, would severely affect farming activities, as the nearby “Gutta Cheruvu” serves as a primary water source for irrigation and drinking purposes. Pollution from the dump yard could contaminate water resources and impact the well-known Jahangir Peer Dargah. Harish Rao also noted that during the previous BRS regime, plans were proposed to develop an IT park in the same area to generate employment and boost regional development.
