A meeting between Congress senior leaders and Telangana ministers was held in New Delhi, during which discussions were held on the successful organisation of the Medaram Jatara. Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi congratulated Telangana Minister Seethakka for conducting the tribal festival on a grand scale. The leaders reportedly spent nearly ten minutes discussing the history, cultural importance, and spiritual significance of the Medaram Jatara, one of the largest tribal gatherings in the country.
During the interaction, Seethakka explained the historical legacy and the heroic struggle of Sammakka and Saralamma, which Rahul Gandhi and Kharge listened to with keen interest. Rahul Gandhi suggested that a film should be made to showcase the story nationwide. In a light-hearted exchange, Rahul Gandhi remarked that they would have certainly attended the festival if invited, while Kharge also expressed interest in visiting the shrine. Seethakka clarified that due to time constraints, personal invitations could not be extended but assured that official invitations would be sent for the next Jatara, to which both leaders responded positively.
