BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) has demanded that the Telangana government release a detailed white paper on crop procurement. He challenged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s claim that 80% of procurement is complete, stating that his party is ready to face any punishment if it is proven true. Addressing a press meet at Telangana Bhavan, he alleged a deep procurement crisis affecting farmers across the state.
KTR accused the government of misleading claims and ignoring ground realities, stating that procurement centers lack basic facilities and farmers are struggling to sell their produce. He also criticized delays, irregular weighing practices, and shortages of gunny bags, while contrasting government claims of progress with what he described as less than 30% actual procurement on the ground.
He further demanded that the issue be discussed in the cabinet meeting and warned that if the government continues to ignore farmers’ problems, the BRS will intensify pressure at the grassroots level.
