Former Telangana minister and BRS MLA Harish Rao has strongly criticised the Congress government over the alleged suspension of the Rythu Bima scheme and problems with power supply. Speaking at a meeting with families in the Siddipet constituency who have not received insurance compensation, he alleged that thousands of farmer families had been suffering as payments remained pending for the past three months. He also raised concerns over electricity generation, claiming that coal shortages were affecting power supply and that farmers were unable to access irrigation water despite adequate availability in projects because pumps were not being operated. He questioned the state government’s responsibility for the situation.
Harish Rao accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka of failing to address farmers’ concerns. He questioned the government’s reported move to suspend electricity officials, arguing that those in leadership should first take responsibility for the problems. He demanded that the government immediately address the grievances of families awaiting insurance compensation. Harish Rao warned that if the government failed to respond, he would organise a protest outside the Chief Minister’s residence and lead a siege of the Secretariat along with the affected farmer families.
