Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav has responded sharply to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s counterchallenge over contesting the upcoming elections from Ayodhya. Two days ago, Akhilesh challenged Yogi to contest from Ayodhya in the next elections. Yogi accepted the challenge but countered that Akhilesh should also contest from the same constituency. Responding to Yogi, Akhilesh said that the latter’s arrogance would soon be wiped out.
In a post on X, Akhilesh wrote that a major storm was coming to crush the arrogance of those who allegedly misused donations meant for the Ayodhya Ram temple. He added that his party workers were sufficient to defeat those he accused of misappropriating the donations, and that he did not need to contest personally. Akhilesh also alleged that no one from Uttar Pradesh was willing to contest on Yogi’s behalf.
