Telangana Rakshana Sena president Kalvakuntla Kavitha announced a major public meeting titled “Samajika Nyaya Telangana Sadhana Sabha” to be held in Hyderabad on August 6, demanding 50% reservations for Backward Classes. Speaking at a BC leaders’ meeting in Banjara Hills, she said the movement would be intensified on the occasion of Professor Jayashankar’s birth anniversary.
Kavitha stated that efforts would be made to unite all sections of society to mount pressure on both the central and state governments. She criticized the Congress government for failing to push for approval of bills sent to the Centre seeking 42% reservations for BCs in education, jobs, and local bodies. She expressed confidence that the rally would influence the nation’s political direction.
