Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said his government had honoured its promises despite facing several challenges, adding that improving people’s living standards remained its priority. Speaking at a press conference in Undavalli, he discussed state development, welfare programmes and local body elections. Naidu criticised YSRCP leaders, alleging that their actions were obstructing development. He said the state was gradually recovering from the damage caused during the previous government’s tenure. He also stressed that strengthening local bodies was essential for genuine decentralisation of power, with the Centre, state and local institutions playing important roles in governance.
Naidu said his government was implementing welfare schemes worth ₹1.5 lakh crore and delivering benefits according to a fixed welfare calendar. He added that steps were being taken to complete projects that had remained pending for decades. The government was regularly collecting public feedback on its services and addressing shortcomings, he said. Naidu reiterated his commitment to developing Rayalaseema as a model region and expanding agricultural opportunities in the Markapuram area. He also alleged that funds meant for local bodies had been diverted and several central schemes discontinued under the previous government. According to him, the state had held discussions with the Centre to revive the Jal Jeevan Mission.
