Actor Vishal openly criticised Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay over the appointment of Rajmohan as the Minister for Film Technology and Cinematography Act. In a detailed post on X, Vishal stated that appointing someone without industry experience to handle cinema-related affairs was disappointing. While appreciating CM Vijay’s decision to shut liquor shops near schools and places of worship, Vishal expressed concern over the lack of representation for experienced film personalities in the ministry.
Vishal questioned how industry members could explain long-pending issues to someone unfamiliar with the field. He also urged the government to introduce a state-run ticketing system, abolish local body taxes on cinema tickets, and increase subsidies for small-budget films. The actor clarified that his comments were not intended to insult Rajmohan personally but were made in the interest of the Tamil film industry. He expressed hope that CM Vijay would address the concerns and tagged the Tamil Nadu CMO in his post.
