Actor-turned-politician Vijay has officially announced the candidates of his party Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. In a touching moment, Sabarinathan, son of Vijay’s close aide Rajendran, was declared the party’s MLA candidate from Virugambakkam constituency. Overwhelmed with emotion, Sabarinathan fell at Vijay’s feet and broke down in tears, while Rajendran too became emotional. Vijay embraced both father and son, a gesture that has since gone viral on social media.
TVK has announced candidates for all 234 constituencies, with Vijay himself contesting from Perambur and Tiruchirappalli East. He has already confirmed that the party will contest independently. The party is witnessing strong support among young voters, particularly those aged 18 to 35. Surveys indicate that TVK is gaining significant traction in key cities like Chennai, Madurai, and Tiruppur, with a possibility of emerging as the second-largest party in some constituencies in Chennai.
