Victory by a single vote

In a dramatic and rare electoral outcome, TVK candidate Srinivasa Sethupathi won the Tiruppathur Assembly seat in Tamil Nadu by just one vote. The result has drawn widespread attention due to the extremely close margin that decided the winner.

Srinivasa Sethupathi secured 83,375 votes, while DMK candidate Periyakaruppan polled 83,374 votes, narrowly missing victory. The one-vote difference turned the contest in favour of the TVK candidate, marking one of the closest electoral results in recent times.
