Preparations for the formation of the new UDF government in Kerelam are progressing rapidly, with V. D. Satheesan set to take oath as Chief Minister on Monday morning at 10 AM. Along with Satheesan, 20 other ministers will also be sworn in, marking the formation of a full-fledged cabinet in Kerelam after nearly six decades. The Chief Minister-designate has already submitted the list of ministers to the Governor.
Satheesan stated that the cabinet was formed while maintaining social and regional balance after extensive discussions with alliance leaders. He also confirmed that the IUML has been allotted five ministerial positions in the coalition government. Senior leaders including Ramesh Chennithala, K. Muraleedharan, and Sunny Joseph are among those taking oath as ministers. Several Congress and IUML leaders have also been included in the 21-member cabinet.
