

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), led by actor-turned-politician Vijay, has disclosed its election expenditure for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly polls. According to the expenditure statement filed with the Election Commission, the party reported total spending of ₹19.81 crore. The statement shows that ₹3.55 crore was spent on Vijay’s air travel, while ₹6.35 crore went towards media advertising across print, electronic media and radio. Public meetings and roadshows accounted for another ₹2.06 crore.
TVK contested 233 of Tamil Nadu’s 234 Assembly constituencies and won 108 seats, according to election results. The party’s statement also recorded ₹40.55 lakh for publicity material and reported ₹7.02 crore in receipts during the election period, with an opening balance of ₹3.03 crore when the election was announced. For comparison, DMK reported ₹197.84 crore in election expenditure, while AIADMK reported ₹112.39 crore in the figures cited in the filings.
