US President Donald Trump has issued a fresh warning to Iran, stating that any alleged attempt to assassinate him would be met with an overwhelming military response. In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump claimed the United States had already prepared a large-scale missile response and said the military had been instructed to act if such an incident were to occur. He further asserted that any attack targeting him would result in extensive retaliation against Iran.
Trump has previously alleged that Iran could attempt to target him and has repeatedly warned of severe consequences in such a scenario. His latest remarks come at a time of heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran over issues including Iran's nuclear programme and security concerns surrounding the Strait of Hormuz. Analysts say such statements could further intensify the already fragile geopolitical situation in the region.
