U.S. President Donald Trump has said that he would like to meet Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, and indicated that such a meeting could take place in the future depending on the progress of ongoing developments. Speaking in a recent interview, Trump stated that Khamenei remains actively involved in Iran’s decision-making process and continues to play a key role in approving major policy decisions.
Trump also referred to reports that Mojtaba Khamenei was injured during the early stages of the conflict that began on February 28 and has largely stayed away from public appearances since then. Despite speculation surrounding his health, Trump acknowledged that Khamenei continues to influence negotiations and strategic decisions in Iran. He further remarked that the transition of leadership from Ali Khamenei to Mojtaba Khamenei appeared to follow a succession pattern that has long shaped Iran’s political structure.
