Tribal Protest Against Bauxite Mining

Tension prevailed in Paderu of Alluri Sitarama Raju district as tribal organisations staged a massive rally against the proposed bauxite mining project. Protesters attempted to enter the ITDA office, leading to a heated argument with police personnel who stopped them. The tribal groups demanded that the proposed mining activity be halted.

In a separate development, GITAM University filed a ₹5 crore defamation suit against YSRCP MLC Varudu Kalyani. The university alleged that her statements regarding a construction project on its land were false and baseless. According to the university's legal counsel, the allegations harmed the institution's reputation, prompting legal action.
