A significant development has taken place in the Chityal municipal elections of Nalgonda district. Sudhakar, a transgender candidate who contested as an Independent from Ward No. 1 (SC General), secured a historic victory. Despite facing stiff competition from candidates representing the Congress-CPM alliance, BRS, BJP and BSP, the voters of the ward extended their support to Sudhakar.
Notably, this marks the first time in the state that a transgender candidate has won an election, making it a landmark moment in local political history. The victory is being seen as the beginning of a new chapter in Chityal’s municipal politics. Sudhakar expressed gratitude to the people for placing their trust and confidence in him.
