Severe traffic disruptions were reported during the visit of Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, chief of the YSR Congress Party, to Guntur despite police restrictions on rallies and public gatherings. According to officials, Jagan was scheduled to leave Tadepalli at 10 a.m. and reach Siddhartha Nagar in Guntur by 11 a.m. to visit the residence of Ambati Rambabu. However, a large convoy and party supporters accompanied the visit, allegedly violating restrictions. Supporters reportedly crossed barricades and joined the convoy with two-wheelers, waving party flags and causing disruptions.
Party leaders and supporters reportedly parked more than 50 vehicles near the Kaz Toll Plaza, leading to massive traffic congestion on the Guntur-Vijayawada highway. Commuters were stranded for several hours, with vehicles lined up for kilometres. Jagan reached Ambati Rambabu’s residence around 4:30 p.m., with the 35-kilometre journey reportedly taking nearly six hours due to heavy crowds and slow movement. Supporters raised slogans along the route, causing inconvenience to residents and motorists. Some individuals also climbed onto temporary sheds and nearby compound walls, resulting in minor property damage before police restored order.
