Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that India’s trade and migration policy agreements with various countries across the world are opening up fresh opportunities for the nation’s youth. He highlighted that India has the largest youth population globally and emphasized that employment generation for young people remains a top priority for his government.
The Prime Minister was addressing the nation after launching the 18th edition of the Rozgar Mela through video conferencing on Saturday. During the event, appointment letters were distributed to 61,000 young candidates selected for government jobs across different departments.
PM Modi urged the newly recruited youth to view their appointment letters not merely as job documents, but as commitments toward nation-building. He encouraged them to work collectively in strengthening key sectors such as national security, healthcare, education, and energy, while always upholding constitutional values and responsibilities.
He reiterated that providing employment and livelihood opportunities to skilled youth is a core objective of the government. With this vision, Rozgar Melas have been organized at 40 locations across various states in the country.
Speaking about India’s growing startup ecosystem, the Prime Minister said startups are playing a crucial role in job creation. He noted that the Digital India initiative has significantly transformed the Indian economy. Currently, India has nearly 2 lakh registered startups, providing employment to more than 21 lakh young professionals, he added.
