Tilak Nagar Road Dispute Escalates, Parvesh Verma Faces Allegations Over Slap

A political controversy erupted in Delhi after Public Works Department Minister Parvesh Verma was seen in a video appearing to slap a young man during a road inspection in west Delhi’s Tilak Nagar. Verma had visited the area to inspect a newly constructed road, where AAP MLA Jarnail Singh questioned the quality of the work and pulled up a portion of the road surface. The young man, identified as Saheb Singh, was recording the proceedings when the confrontation escalated. The video shows Verma pushing down his mobile phone before appearing to slap him.

Verma later defended his actions, claiming that people accompanying the AAP MLA had abused his family and that he reacted to the alleged remarks. Saheb Singh, however, denied abusing the minister and said he was recording the inspection after being asked to do so. A police complaint has been submitted at Vikaspuri Police Station, and authorities are verifying the facts. The incident has drawn criticism from AAP leaders, while former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal shared the video and called for action against Verma.
