Telangana SIR Deadline Extended

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has extended the deadline for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls in Telangana by revising its schedule. As per the updated notification, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will continue their house-to-house survey and collection of enumeration forms until August 3, 2026. The extension comes after the Telangana Government requested the Commission to provide additional time for the ongoing revision process.

Under the revised schedule, the draft electoral roll will be published on August 10, while claims and objections can be submitted until September 9. The Election Commission will dispose of all claims and objections by October 8, and the final electoral roll will be published on October 12, 2026. The Commission has directed officials to publicise the revised schedule widely and communicate the changes to all recognised political parties.
