

Polling in the Telangana municipal elections progressed steadily on Wednesday, with 48.54 percent voter turnout recorded across the state till 1:00 PM, according to the Election Commission. Officials said the next update on voter turnout will be released at 3:00 PM.
Among municipal corporations, Kothagudem Municipal Corporation registered the highest turnout at 53.48 percent, while Nizamabad Municipal Corporation recorded the lowest at 35.49 percent. Overall, municipal corporations together reported 40.96 percent polling. In the 116 municipalities, the average voter turnout stood at 51.6 percent till 1:00 PM. At the municipality level, Waddepalli Municipality in Alampur district saw the highest turnout at 68.57 percent, whereas Nirmal Municipality recorded the lowest at 33.73 percent. Polling is continuing peacefully across the state amid tight security arrangements.
