Andhra Pradesh Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu said the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) was committed to ensuring political empowerment for weaker sections. He criticised those who, according to him, challenged the move to provide 34% reservations for Backward Classes (BCs) in court. He also accused the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) of attempting to prevent BC communities from advancing politically. The minister made these remarks while inaugurating an electricity facility at NTR Colony in the Palakollu area of West Godavari district.
Ramanaidu alleged that leaders from the family of Rajareddy to Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had worked to suppress BC communities. He stressed the need to provide them with fair political representation and opportunities. The claims regarding the reservation-related court cases and the YSRCP’s intentions reflect the minister’s political allegations.
