Former minister and Deputy Floor Leader T. Harish Rao strongly criticized the Telangana government over the slow pace of paddy procurement during his visit to the grain procurement centre at Ensanpally village in Siddipet Urban mandal. Interacting with farmers who have been waiting for days at procurement yards, Harish Rao alleged that the government was functioning in “commission mode” rather than “mission mode” and warned that if procurement operations were not accelerated within two days, he would personally lead thousands of farmers to lay siege to the Collectorate.
Harish Rao demanded that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy stop “Delhi trips and empty promises” and instead increase the movement of lorries to procurement centres. He alleged that farmers were suffering heavy losses due to a deduction of nearly 5 kilograms per quintal during procurement, while ministers and officials remained indifferent. He also reminded the Chief Minister about his promise to complete full Rythu Bandhu payments within 45 days in Siddipet, stating that even after 63 days, the assurance had not been fulfilled.
