Suspended Members of Parliament from the Indian National Congress staged a protest near the entrance of the Lok Sabha, demanding answers from the BJP-led central government over the India–US trade deal. The protesting MPs displayed placards alleging that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had compromised with former US President Donald Trump. Bhuvanagiri MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy strongly criticised the BJP’s approach, accusing it of suppressing opposition voices in Parliament.
Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy stated that eight Congress MPs were suspended a day earlier for protesting what he called repeated disruptions by ruling party members. He alleged that BJP leaders interrupted Rahul Gandhi while he was speaking in the Lok Sabha and that the Speaker diverted the microphone to others. When Congress MPs raised objections, they were suspended, which he described as an attempt to silence dissent. He further said the BJP has no intention of allowing smooth parliamentary proceedings and is preventing discussions on pressing public issues.
