Discussions between India and the United States on the Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA) have entered the final stage. Officials stated that an interim understanding has already been reached.
Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal informed the media on Monday that an Indian delegation will visit the United States on the 23rd of this month to hold detailed discussions on the legal aspects of the full-fledged BTA.
The delegation will be led by Darpan Jain, Joint Secretary in the Commerce Ministry and the chief negotiator for India. The team will engage with US representatives to deliberate on key legal provisions and structural components of the agreement.
If the discussions conclude successfully, the comprehensive BTA is expected to further strengthen trade relations between the two countries.
