BRS leader K. T. Rama Rao strongly criticized the Speaker’s decision to grant a clean chit to MLAs Danam Nagender and Kadiyam Srihari in the party defection case. He stated that giving a clean chit to a leader who contested on the Congress party’s B-form is an insult to the mandate given by the people. KTR said that changing positions won with public votes for personal gain goes against the spirit of democracy.
He further said that the Speaker’s decision encouraging political defections would be remembered as a dark day in the history of democracy. According to him, the move is not just a verdict but an example of constitutional institutions being used in favor of those in power. KTR warned that such decisions damage public trust and said the people of Telangana are observing everything and will respond at the right time.
