Following the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) emerged as a strong political force but fell short of the majority mark of 118 seats, triggering widespread speculation over possible post-poll alliances. Amid growing political discussions, filmmaker and TVK chief Vijay’s father, S.A. Chandrasekhar, responded cautiously when questioned by the media, clearly distinguishing his role as a parent from the party’s strategic decision-making process.
He stated that he holds no position in decision-making and that Vijay alone is the leader who will decide on alliances. Chandrasekhar expressed pride in his son’s electoral performance, adding that Vijay has long envisioned serving society. He further noted that Vijay had predicted the main contest would be between TVK and DMK, which the election results have now reflected. According to him, Vijay’s entry into politics was not sudden but the result of a two-decade-long commitment to public service.
