BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) criticized the current government, stating that farmer-friendly governance has been replaced by policies that are troubling farmers. He mentioned that on November 18, he visited the Adilabad market yard along with local BRS leaders to understand the difficulties faced by farmers. KTR referred to a farmer named Tudum Ganapathi from Arli (B) village in Adilabad district, who had expressed distress over the government not purchasing his soybean crop. The farmer reportedly stayed in the market yard for four days without any procurement and broke down while speaking to the media.
Ganapathi had stated that if the government continued to ignore crop procurement, he would be left with no option. Due to mounting debts, lack of loan waiver, and absence of financial support, he died by suicide three days ago.
KTR condemned the incident, stating that it should not be seen as a mere suicide, but as a consequence of government failure.
