At the Ramoji Excellence Awards in Hyderabad, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy once again demonstrated his signature abilities in public engagement. Speaking at the event, Revanth recalled a memorable encounter he had with renowned media mogul Ramoji Rao during the 2009 united Andhra Pradesh elections, while entertaining the audience with humor and nostalgia.
Revanth disclosed that he and four other leaders had approached Ramoji Rao prior to the 2009 election results because they thought the TDP would form the government and that Ramoji's recommendation would guarantee them cabinet seats. It was widely believed at the time that Chandrababu would appoint Ramoji Garu's recommendations to ministerial positions. We had the same hope when we met him. He knew what we were trying to say without us even saying it," Revanth said.
He added that Ramoji tactfully told them that he had never suggested anyone for a cabinet post and that building a strong MLA base is a better way to gain political clout than vying for ministerial positions. Paradoxically, Revanth never made it to the cabinet; instead, fate had him ascend straight to the chief ministership, demonstrating that Ramoji's prophecies had been realized in his own life.
