Revanth Reddy’s Key Meeting in Delhi Over the Surekha Issue

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s two-day visit to New Delhi is expected to witness key discussions on the issue involving Minister Konda Surekha, according to party sources. The Chief Minister is scheduled to travel to Delhi on Tuesday and may meet Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal on Wednesday to discuss the report submitted by the PCC disciplinary committee. The report is said to concern matters involving Konda Surekha and State Planning Commission Vice-Chairman Chinna Reddy. Party sources indicated that Revanth Reddy is reportedly unhappy over remarks made by Surekha’s daughter Sushmita and may push for strict action. However, the final decision could depend on the Congress high command’s intervention.

During his visit, Revanth Reddy is also expected to meet several Union ministers to discuss key development projects in Telangana. He is likely to meet Union Urban Development Minister Manohar Lal Khattar regarding the Hyderabad Metro Rail project and Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu to discuss the progress of the Mamunoor Airport. The Chief Minister may also meet Defence Minister Rajnath Singh regarding proposed agreements with defence companies ahead of the Invest Telangana summit scheduled from December 7 to 9 at Future City. The Delhi visit is expected to focus on infrastructure development, investments and major state projects.
