Representation submitted to Justice Balakrishna Commission seeking SC status for Dalit Christians

YSR Congress Party leaders submitted a representation to Justice Balakrishna Commission seeking Scheduled Caste (SC) status for Dalit Christians. The delegation met the commission chairman in New Delhi and highlighted that despite religious conversion, Dalit Christians continue to face social, economic, and educational backwardness.

They argued that granting SC status would ensure equal access to education, employment, and welfare schemes, thereby promoting social justice. The delegation urged the central government to consider the issue positively and take an appropriate decision. The team included Jupudi Prabhakar Rao, MPs Gurumurthy and Baburao, MLC Arun Kumar, and other representatives.
