Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has received a major relief. The ACB Special Court in Vijayawada on Monday quashed the criminal case filed against him and 36 others in connection with the skill development project. The court accepted the final report submitted by the CID, which stated that no evidence was found and described the case as a “mistake of fact”. With this ruling, all charges against the accused have been dropped.
Earlier, during the previous government’s tenure, Chandrababu Naidu was arrested by CID officials on September 9, 2023, in the same case. He spent about 53 days in Rajamahendravaram Central Jail under judicial custody before the High Court granted him bail.
The allegations claimed that while Chandrababu was Chief Minister, irregularities occurred in a ₹3,300 crore project under the Skill Development Corporation, causing over ₹300 crore loss to the government treasury. Based on these allegations, the CID had registered and investigated the case.
