Ramchander Rao Criticises Revanth Reddy’s Remarks and SIR

Amid the ongoing political debate over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Telangana, BJP state president N. Ramchander Rao criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Congress leaders. Rao said genuine voters would not be affected by the SIR and alleged that the Congress was raising objections over the exercise for political reasons. He also rejected claims of differences among Election Commission officials and said the Election Commission was functioning impartially. Rao accused the Congress of creating unnecessary apprehension among people over the SIR process.

Rao also criticised Revanth Reddy over his recent remarks concerning Lord Ram and Lord Shiva. He said that such comments were inappropriate from a person holding the office of Chief Minister and announced that the BJP would organise protests across the state against the remarks. Rao also urged that religious figures and temples should not be brought into political controversies. The comments have added to the ongoing political exchange between the BJP and Congress in Telangana.
